About Us
Welcome to The Village Nursery School (VNS), an independent, non-profit preschool providing high-quality early childhood education in a caring, nurturing environment for children aged two years and nine months to five years old.
Founded in 1957 by a group of dedicated parents, VNS was created to give our community a space for every child to thrive, no matter their background.
Today, we offer three classes tailored to each age—3-year-old, 4-year-old, and Pre-K—to encourage children to develop confidence, creativity, and a love for learning.
Our mission is to provide every child with a quality early childhood experience by fostering the social, emotional, intellectual, creative and physical growth and development of our students.
We see education as a partnership between parents and teachers, encouraging open communication to best support each family and create a successful preschool experience.
For young children, play is the foundation of learning. Our daily schedule is carefully designed to balance child-directed and teacher-guided activities, giving children opportunities to explore and grow individually, in small groups, and as a class.
Through our play-based approach, children enjoy a curriculum that’s child-centered and teacher-guided, allowing them to actively construct their own understanding of the world.
